Forwarding Inbound Calls
If you need to forward your inbound calls to another phone line or directly to your voice mail, the system can handle these calls in a number of ways.
From your Avaya telephone
- Press the Features softkey.
- Scroll to the Forward option.
- press either the Select softkey or the OK button.
- Scroll to one of the Forward options.
Forward Me to…
The Follow me to option is the used to enable the follow me option on your telephone number from your own phone. From your phone:
- Scroll to the Follow me to option and press the Select softkey.
- Use the keypad to enter the extension you want the call to go to. If the extension is in the system, it will display the name associated with the extension.
- Press the Save softkey.
Follow Me Here…
The Follow me here option is used to send calls to your telephone number to which the phone you want your calls redirected to. From the phone you want your calls to go to:
- Press the Features softkey.
- Scroll to the Forward… option and press the Select softkey.
- Scroll to the Follow Me here option and press the Select softkey.
- Use the keypad to enter the extension whose calls you want to come to you. If the extension is in the system, it will display the name associated with the extension.
- Press the Done softkey.
Forward Unconditional…
- Press the [Features] softkey.
- Scroll to the [Forward…] option.
- press the Select softkey.
- Choose Forward Unconditional... softkey.
- A screen appears with the following options.
- Fwd Unconditional
- Call Type
- Destination
- Scroll to Fwd Unconditional option.
- press the On soft key.
- Scroll to Call Type
- Press the Change soft key repeatedly to select either:
- All Calls (any call that comes through goes to the forward number)
- External Only (only calls that come from outside TFCA are forwarded)
- External and Group (for us, the same as All Calls)
- Non Group (for us, the same as External Only)
- Press the Change soft key repeatedly to select either:
- Scroll to the Destination option and press the select softkey
- Press the Edit soft key if you want calls to forward to an external phone number. The number needs to start with 9 if it’s an external phone number.
- Press To VM if you want the calls to go directly to your voice mail.
- Then press the Phone button to go back to the main screen.
Forward Busy/No Answer
The Forward Busy/No Answer option will forward a call if it is not answered on the phone or the line is busy.
- Press the Features softkey.
- Scroll to the Forward… option.
- press the Select softkey.
A screen appears with the following fields:
- Fwd Busy
- Fwd No Answer
- Call Type
- Destination
Depending on which option you want to use, scroll to either:
- Fwd Busy
- Fwd no Answer
- press the On soft key.
- Press the Change soft key repreatedly to change the Call Type to either:
- All Calls (any call that comes through goes to the forward number)
- External Only (only calls that come from outside TFCA are forwarded)
- External and Group (for us, the same as All Calls)
- Non Group (for us, the same as External Only)
- Scroll to the Destination option
- Press the Edit soft key
- Enter the extension you want calls to forward to.
- Press the Select soft key.
- Then press the Phone button to go back to the main screen.
