Voice Mail Greetings

Voice mail greetings can be set up or changed from either your assigned Avaya phone or from another phone such as a cell phone or home phone. It is easiest to use your Avaya telephone to create or change a voice mail greeting.

From Your TFCA Phone

  • Press the [Message] button.
  • Use the navigation arrows to scroll down to the [Greeting...] option
  • Press the [OK] button or the [Select] softkey
  • Choose the [Record...] softkey
  • When you hear the beep, record your message
  • Press the [Stop] softkey when you are done speaking
  • Choose the [Listen] softkey to hear the recording you just made
  • If the recording is okay, press the [Submit] softkey.
  • If you want to try again, press the [Listen] softkey.

From an External Phone Line

  • Dial your TFCA phone number.

NOTE: You can also call the Auto Attendant line (571-282-0101), and then use the [Dial by Name] or [Dial by Extension] option to get to your phone line. This only works if you recorded your name as laid out in Section 3.

  • At the voice mail greeting, press [*7].
  • The system will say, “Welcome to the Avaya IP Office. For help at any time, press *h.”
  • Enter your [extension] followed by the [#] key
  • Enter your [password] followed by the [#] key

Note that the password is 17760704 unless you changed it previously.

  • Your name will be announced.
  • The system will inform you of the number of messages you have - if any. It will then list the menu of options.
  • Press [3].
  • The system says, “For all calls, the system greeting is active.
  • Next the system gives you another menu with so many options, it can make your head spin. The options are:
    • to listen to a greeting, press 0”
    • “to create change or delete a greeting, press 1”
    • Blah, blah, blah
  • Press [1]. The system will ask you to enter a greeting number. Since you don't have a greeting at this time, press [1].
Follow the instructions to record your greeting.
