Installing the VPN software for Macs

Step 1 | Before Beginning the Install Process

  • It is recommended that you print out these instructions at work and then do the install at home.
  • Make sure all other windows, apps, and files are saved and closed before downloading the Connect Tunnel app in case your computer needs to restart after installation.

Step 2 | Download

  • On the right-hand section labeled, Get Connect Tunnel for Mac click the Download button

  • The download window pops up, click the Save button.

Step 3 | Installation

  • Click on the ConnectTunnel-12.43.00311.dmg in the download area to start the install process.

  • Click on the Connect Tunnel.pkg icon

  • Click the Continue button

  • Click on the Install button.

  • Enter the password you use to sign on to your Mac.

  • Click the Close button.

Click the Move to Trash button (or not) it doesn't matter.

Step 4 | Launch

  • At this point, I recommend restarting your Mac, sometimes the next steps won't work unless there has been a restart. After the restart, go to your apps and click on the Connect Tunnel icon.

  • Click on Add configuration option to bring up the drop-down menu. Click on the 2nd Add configuration.

  • Type in Name: TFCA VPN and Server: remote.tfcanglican.org
  • Click on the Apply button.

  • Click on the Connect button.

  • On this screen, type in your username. The first part of your email address before the @ - not your Mac username.
  • Type in your network password, hopefully the one you use to log into your Mac.
  • Click the OK button.

If you have successfully setup your VPN app, you'll have the following screen.
