Installing the VPN software for Macs
Step 1 | Before Beginning the Install Process
- It is recommended that you print out these instructions at work and then do the install at home.
- Make sure all other windows, apps, and files are saved and closed before downloading the Connect Tunnel app in case your computer needs to restart after installation.
Step 2 | Download
- Click on this link. SonicWall VPN Clients | NetExtender & Mobile Connect using the browser of your choice.
- On the page that appears, scroll down the page to the Connect Tunnel section.
- On the right-hand section labeled, Get Connect Tunnel for Mac click the Download button
- The download window pops up, click the Save button.
Step 3 | Installation
- Click on the ConnectTunnel-12.43.00311.dmg in the download area to start the install process.

- Click on the Connect Tunnel.pkg icon
- Click the Continue button
- Click on the Install button.
- Enter the password you use to sign on to your Mac.
- Click the Close button.
Click the Move to Trash button (or not) it doesn't matter.
Step 4 | Launch
- At this point, I recommend restarting your Mac, sometimes the next steps won't work unless there has been a restart. After the restart, go to your apps and click on the Connect Tunnel icon.
- Click on Add configuration option to bring up the drop-down menu. Click on the 2nd Add configuration.
- Type in Name: TFCA VPN and Server: remote.tfcanglican.org
- Click on the Apply button.
- Click on the Connect button.
- On this screen, type in your username. The first part of your email address before the @ - not your Mac username.
- Type in your network password, hopefully the one you use to log into your Mac.
- Click the OK button.
If you have successfully setup your VPN app, you'll have the following screen.
