Exporting Bookmarks

 

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Open the Bookmark Manager
    1. Click on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
    2. Hover over Bookmarks and lists, then select Bookmark manager.
      or
    3. Press Ctrl+Shift+O (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+O (Mac).
       
  3. Export Bookmarks
    1. In the Bookmark Manager, click on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the upper-right corner of the manager window.
    2. Select Export bookmarks.
    3. Choose a location to save the bookmarks file and give it a name. The file will be saved as an HTML file (e.g., bookmarks.html).
    4. Click Save.

Importing Bookmarks
 

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Open the Bookmark Manager:
    1. Click on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
    2. Hover over Bookmarks, then select Bookmark manager.
    3. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+Shift+O (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+O (Mac).
       
  3. Import Bookmarks
    1. In the Bookmark Manager, click on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the upper-right corner of the manager window.
    2. Select Import bookmarks.
    3. Locate and select the HTML file containing your bookmarks (the file you previously exported).
    4. Click Open.

Your bookmarks will be imported and added to your existing bookmarks in Chrome.

Additional Tips

Syncing Bookmarks: If you use the same Google account on multiple devices, you can enable Chrome Sync. This feature automatically syncs your bookmarks across all devices where you are signed in with your Google account.

Backup: Keeping a backup of your bookmarks file in a safe location (like an external drive or cloud storage) can be helpful in case you need to restore them later.
