Why should you restart your computer
Part of taking good care of your laptop is at least once a week, restarting your computer. If a computer doesn't get restarted, over time performance will degrade and there will be behavior problems.
When you use applications, open files, visits websites, and other tasks, your computer stores information related to those for faster performance. Over time, your computer is remembering too many things at once, and this has a negative impact like slow performance or errors. Rebooting your computer allows it to “refresh” itself by clearing out all that information from its memory and generally gives the operating system a fresh start.
When an update for Windows or macOS is ready to be installed, it almost always requires a reboot to finish the installation. These updates not only help protect the computer against security threats, but also fix problems and bugs with the operating system or other applications. Rebooting your computer on a regular basis helps to keep your computer secure and running well.
Schedule your reboot once a week. Say, on your last day of work before the weekend. You need to turn off or restart your computer. Closing the lid or turning on the screen saver does not count as a reboot.
